GLS Spain has succeeded in establishing one of the country's largest ParcelShop networks. At the beginning of 2019, GLS Spain integrated about 1,600 convenience points of a logistics provider into its network, including the only ones in the Canary Islands. Over the following months, more than 1,000 ParcelShops have been added. Since October 2019, a total of more than 5,500 are available. At the ParcelShops, consumers and companies who send parcels only occasionally can take advantage of a wide range of parcel-related services, including for example a returns service.
In January 2020, GLS Spain connected 200 ParcelLockers to the service point network. They are operated by three providers. When parcel recipients opt for delivery to one of the lockers, they receive an opening code via SMS – and are free to pick up their parcel according to their own schedule.
